DOMESTIC BAGGAGE SERVICES RATES
Baggage charges for domestic flights are computed as follows. Each piece is restricted to a weight of 50lbs (23kgs) and a total circumference not exceeding 62 inches.
• First bag = FREE
• Second bag = $55.00 + VAT
• Third bag = $95.00 + VAT
• Fourth and Plus bags = $125.00 +VAT
Bag greater than 50lbs (23kgs) up to 70lbs (32kgs) = Piece price + $50 + VAT
Bags weighing more than 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted.
NOTE: Televisions will be subject to the following charges and are counted as an allowable checked piece:
Up to 32” screen: $50.00 + VAT
33” – 45” screen: $75.00 + VAT
46” – 54” screen: $100.00 + VAT
Up to 55” screen: $125.00 + VAT
56” and over not accepted.

CUBA BAGGAGE SERVICES RATES
Baggage charges for Cuba flights are computed as follows. Each piece is restricted to a weight of 50lbs (23kgs) and a total circumference not exceeding 62 inches.
• First bag = $35.00
• Second bag = $55.00
• Third bag = $95.00
• Fourth and Plus bags =$125.00
Bags 51 - 70lbs (23kgs – 32kgs) = Piece Price + $50.00
Greater than 62” = Piece Price + $150.00
Greater than 50lbs (23kgs) and 62” = Piece Price + $175.00
Bags weighing more than 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted.
NOTE: All televisions checked in will be subject to the following charges and is counted as an allowable checked piece:
Up to 32” screen: $100.00
33” – 45” screen: $125.00
46” – 54” screen: $150.00
Up to 55” screen: $180.00
56” and over not accepted.
Sporting Equipment and Special Pieces (must be properly packaged)
BICYCLE: $125.00
Bicycles will be accepted in a hard-sided, padded case designed for bicycles. If it’s not in a hard-sided case, bikes will be accepted with the handlebars secured sideways and pedals removed. The bicycle must also be encased in plastic foam, a cardboard box, or similar material to prevent damage.
SURFBOARD: Treated as a checked bag.
One surfboard per case up to 6 feet in length; except items weighing more than 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted as checked baggage. We recommend that surfboards travel in a hard-sided (rather than soft-sided) case to prevent damage. See checked bag policy above.
WINDSURF BOARD: Treated as a checked bag.
One windsurfing board with an aluminum (or similar type of material) wishbone-style boom, one mast with a maximum length of 6 feet, and one sail. Items weighing more than 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted. See the checked bag policy above.
KITE SURF BOARD: Treated as a checked bag.
Kite Surfing and Windsurfing boards, when properly packed to prevent damage to the board, sail, boom, related equipment, and to other baggage, are accepted upon payment of the applicable fee. Items weighing more than 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted. See checked bag policy above.
Archery Equipment, Backpack/Knapsack, Boogie / Skim / Speed Boards, Bowling Balls, Camping Equipment, Fishing Gear, Golf Clubs, Oars, Scuba Gear (without tanks), Skateboard, Tennis Rackets, Tent/Sleeping Bag: Treated as a checked bag.
Must be properly packed. Items over 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted. See checked bag policy above.
Sports Equipment: When treated as a checked bag.
It must be properly packed and may be carried, providing security regulations are not violated.
Shooting Equipment: Treated as a checked bag.
It must be properly packed in a suitable hard case with a lock. Soft cases are NOT ACCEPTED. Items more than 70lbs (32kgs) will not be accepted. See checked bag policy above. Ammunition must not exceed 11lbs (5kgs), and a current firearm license must be presented at check-in.
HOCKEY/LACROSSE: Treated as a checked bag.
One hockey stick and one hockey bag count as one piece.
HOVERBOARDS: NOT ACCEPTED.

SMALL INSTRUMENTS: May be carried providing security regulations are not violated and the instrument(s) meet carry-on weight and size requirements.
STYROFOAM COOLERS AND STORAGE BINS: NOT ACCEPTED WITH PERISHABLES. Perishables (seafood, poultry, meats, etc.) must be frozen and will ONLY be accepted in hard impenetrable coolers. Bahamasair assumes no liability for food spoilage or articles confiscated by US CBP or Airport Security. Please ensure coolers, boxes, and bins remain open for inspection at the counter. Once inspected, it is the responsibility of the passenger to secure the article with tape or plastic wrapping before acceptance by the airline.
COOLER BAGS: Only accepted if contents are free of possible leakage. Bag must not contain seafood, poultry, meats, ice, or leak able liquids of any kind.
PETS: Domestic Travel: $75.00 + VAT / International Travel: $75.00 Cuba: NOT ACCEPTED
Accepted both in Cabin and as checked baggage and are charged per sector. Only two (2) pets are allowed in the cabin. Pets must be able to fit comfortably in approved containers. Approved hard-shell cages are required for pets being checked. Please view the policy found at Pets & Service Animals
NOTE: All Domestic Excess Charges incur a 10%VAT charge. Bahamasair will refund fees charged to a passenger for optional services that the passenger was unable to use due to irregular circumstances (Flight cancellation, etc.)
